2. OVER-LOOK
Photography | Typology | Book Design
Wenzhou, 2022
This project explores the uneasy entanglement of humans and plants under regimes of commodification and aesthetic control. Observed in urban markets, plants are trimmed, packaged, or discarded—reduced to symbols of cuteness, productivity, or curated lifestyle.
Through photography and editorial design, the work captures these silent negotiations. Each image marks a moment of care, manipulation, or quiet resistance—revealing how vegetal life is shaped to fit human desire. Rooted in the idea of plant dignity, the project asks: when beauty overrides respect, can design still nurture empathy across species?
3. Twinkle Again
Media Art | AR Design | Visual Culture
Hong Kong, 2023This project began with a viral rumour: a false report that all neon signs in Hong Kong were to be dismantled. Though untrue, the collective anxiety it sparked revealed a fading icon’s lingering glow in the city’s cultural psyche.
By tracing the decline of neon—from its luminous presence to its quiet disappearance—the project reflects on urban erasure, policy neglect, and the fragility of cultural symbols. Through AR reanimation, it offers a quiet act of resistance: letting neon flicker again, not as nostalgia, but as living memory.
4. Blue's Death, Blue's Alive
Visual Narrative | Personal Memory | Book Design
Hang Zhou, 2023
This project reflects on the sudden loss of Blue, a beloved bird, and the intimate rituals of mourning that followed.
Drawing from the idea of the “three deaths” in Sum, it becomes a quiet act of farewell—where memory resists forgetting, and design becomes a gentle form of care. Through storytelling, it softens grief and honours presence beyond absence.
5. Chewing Boom
Design for Health | Cultural Insight | Product System
Hong Kong, 2023This project began with quiet observations of campus life—where alcohol flows freely, but knowledge does not. Amid endless choices and low awareness, casual drinking often slips into dependence.
Rooted in Confucian ideas of ritual and restraint, the project reimagines drinking as an intentional act. Through alcohol-infused candies with precise content, it offers a mindful alternative—inviting awareness over excess, and proposing a cultural recalibration of youthful indulgence.
